Ebookers.com Smart Traveller Survey unveils the inner most secrets of high fliers

Iris Recognition and Tuesday Travel are Just Two Ways to Keep Ahead of the Crowd

ebookers.com, one of the leading online travel specialists and the UK’s first online travel agent, has announced the results of its Smart Traveller survey.

Designed to uncover the booking habits of the typical ebookers.com customer, the travel secrets uncovered by the survey are now available for everyone in the UK.

Smart Travellers are super confident and do not need to go to the high street or ask friends for travel tips – instead they rely heavily on internet research (87%). A big majority (82%) visit up to eight websites, citing Google and specialist travel sites as their favourite destinations.

When it comes to airport queues, Smart Travellers leave their passports at home and go with Iris Recognition (15% compared to 0.06% in the country use it). But surprisingly, Smart Travellers are turned off by last minute bookings, with 70% preferring to book one to six months in advance of travelling.

Another key finding is that they are not hung up on First Class or Economy, instead they are more bothered about the price of flights than getting upgrades, and the majority hunt around for the best deals. One of the top travel tips from those who are really in the know is to travel on Tuesdays. 

Other Smart Traveller habits to take note of are to; shop around for the best deals, be polite, book ahead and research the background on your destination.
