Broad marketing partnership encourages travelers to book a longer Florida vacation this fall
CHICAGO, Sept. 12, 2013 - Leading online travel company Orbitz Worldwide (NYSE: OWW) and VISIT FLORIDA, the state's official tourism marketing corporation, today launched an extensive marketing campaign that runs through November 30 and is supported by digital and broadcast media encouraging consumers to book travel and activities at Orbitz.com/Florida. The campaign will run on Orbitz.com along with search engine marketing (SEM) efforts, a TV commercial and offsite media banners to drive travel bookings to Florida.
Florida hosted 26.2 million visitors from January through March 2013, making it the biggest quarter for visitation in the history of Florida tourism, and the second quarter was equally strong when 23.4 million visitors flocked to the state. In 2012, Orbitz.com and its affiliated consumer brands - CheapTickets.com, European-based ebookers.com and Asia-Pacific-based HotelClub.com - booked travel to Florida for visitors from all 50 states and 173 countries. With the launch of the fall campaign Orbitz and VISIT FLORIDA look to maintain tourism momentum in a state that offers an endless variety of attractions and activities including sugar-white beaches, fine dining, golf, shopping, action-packed theme parks and world-class fishing, just to name a few.

When booking travel at Orbitz.com/Florida, consumers can take advantage of special offers and discounts at destinations across the state. For example, travelers can get a third night free at the five-star Grove Isle Hotel & Spa in Coconut Grove; a fourth night free at the four-star Bonaventure Resort and Spa in Weston; or save between 30 and 60 percent at over a dozen properties in cities including Orlando, Miami Beach and Kissimmee, among others.
