Orbitz Opens Premier Affiliate Program To Travel Agents

Travel Agents Can Now Save on Booking Costs, Get Unbiased Flight Information, and Earn Commissions Through Orbitz

Chicago, IL - August 2, 2004 - Orbitz, Inc. (NASDAQ: ORBZ) today announced it has opened its Premier Affiliate Program to travel agents. Orbitz' Affiliate Program gives travel agents a low-cost alternative to access the most travel options and unbiased matrix displays, while enabling them to earn commissions every time they purchase travel.

The U.S. Department of Transportation's deregulation of Global Distribution Systems (GDSs) on July 31 created the opportunity for Orbitz to expand this program.

"For smaller, primarily home-based travel agents, participating in a traditional GDS is just too expensive. Travel agents tell us they need a low-cost booking tool that gives them fast access to a comprehensive selection of travel options," said Mike Stein, vice president of e-marketing at Orbitz. "With GDS deregulation completed, Orbitz has an opportunity to provide travel agents with a booking tool they can count on to be unbiased."

Travel agents can sign up for Orbitz' Premier Affiliate Program on To learn more about the program and enroll, simply click on the link "Become an Affiliate" at the bottom of the page and follow the instructions.
