Chicago, IL and Burlingame, CA - July 18, 2007- Virgin America today announced that Orbitz Worldwide, a leading global online travel company, will be its exclusive online travel agency in the United States for its launch. Virgin America fares will be offered via Orbitz Worldwide's Orbitz.com and CheapTickets.com websites.
By adding Virgin America to its list of airline suppliers, Orbitz Worldwide is able to expand its availability of flights from low cost carriers, enabling customers who seek value options within their travel choices. Both Orbitz.com and CheapTickets.com will commence selling Virgin America tickets on Thursday, July 19, 2007.
While a low-fare carrier, Virgin America will offer its customers first-rate amenities including mood lighting in the cabin, leather seats with one of the most advanced in-flight entertainment systems offering on-demand movies, satellite TV, music, games and even an online chat room where guests can email each other aboard the aircraft. First class travelers will enjoy massage chairs with 55 inches of seat pitch.
