CHICAGO, Nov. 17 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Orbitz Worldwide (NYSE: OWW), a leading, global online travel company, today announced a distribution agreement with Millennium and Copthorne Hotels & Resorts, adding dozens of lodging properties under the Millennium and Copthorne brands throughout Europe and the Middle East.

Under the agreement, all properties will be made available through a portfolio of Orbitz Worldwide online travel brands, including Orbitz (http://www.orbitz.com), CheapTickets (http://www.cheaptickets.com), ebookers.com (http://www.ebookers.com), HotelClub (http://www.hotelclub.com) and RatesToGo (http://www.ratestogo.com). These international hotels complement Millennium and Copthorne Hotels' full selection of U.S. properties currently offered through Orbitz Worldwide.

"The expansion of our hotel sourcing teams outside the U.S. continues to benefit our global brands through agreements with leading chains like Millennium and Copthorne Hotels," said Peggy Bianco, group vice president, global hotel supplier relations, Orbitz Worldwide. "The Millennium and Copthorne Hotels & Resorts are synonymous with great lodging experiences worldwide, and I'm confident the growing numbers of Orbitz customers who've booked international travel online will enjoy more hotel choices through the addition of Millennium and Copthorne Hotels."

The agreement further expands Orbitz Worldwide's hotel presence in two key international regions whose online penetration continues to grow. According to market research firm PhoCus Wright, online bookings for leisure and unmanaged business travel in Europe increased 23 percent in 2007. Additionally, despite a slowdown in travel spend this year, PhoCus Wright says online travel in Europe has grown by nearly 19 percent (1) in 2008.

In the Middle East, thriving destinations like Dubai are among those helping to drive online travel and tourism. Dubai Tourism, for example, estimates its number of hotels will increase 29 percent by 2016, and says tourism revenues have grown more than 500 percent in the last 10 years.

Millennium and Copthorne Hotels owns and operates 24 lodging properties in Europe, as well as hotels in the Dubai region and the Middle East. In total, the company owns, asset manages and/or operates more than 120 hotels in 19 countries around the world.
