Orbitz and Qatar Airways Launch Online Video Series, "Orbitz Originals: The Great Qatar Airways Adventure"

Latest installment of the popular online series highlights the best of Doha

CHICAGO, July 11, 2013 - Leading online travel company Orbitz Worldwide (NYSE: OWW) and Qatar Airways, named "World's Best Business Class" by Skytrax, today launched a five-part online video series, "Orbitz Originals: The Great Qatar Airways Adventure," hosted by award-winning travel expert Richard Bangs and available for viewing at Orbitz.com/Qatar. Building on the success of previous "Orbitz Originals" installments that premiered over the past year, this new series harnesses the power of online video to showcase Qatar's world-class hotels, shopping and activities in the capital city of Doha as well as the five-star in-flight experience available on Qatar Airways.

Located on the edge of the Arabian Gulf and bordering Saudi Arabia to the south, Qatar is within eight hours flight time to more than two thirds of the world's population - and by 2014 its airline segment is expected to become the Middle East region's second-largest air market1.  As the country is poised for rapid growth in tourism, each episode of "Orbitz Originals: The Great Qatar Airways Adventure" inspires travelers by focusing on a unique aspect of the Qatar experience:

  • "Where is Qatar?" delivers an overview of Qatar and the vibrant art, culture, architecture and cuisine of its capital city, Doha. 

  • "Top Things to Do" presents Richard Bangs' Gold List of activities, including a stroll along the Corniche promenade, a visit to the Katara Village, and a nighttime cruise around Doha Bay 

  • "Qatar Airways Experience" showcases the luxury and comfort travelers experience when flying the country's namesake airline 

  • "Fabulous Hotels" explores Richard Bangs' Gold List of Doha's top accommodations 

  • "Irresistible Shopping" highlights The Pearl, a premier waterfront home to over 2 million square feet of shopping, leisure and restaurant areas 

To date, "Orbitz Originals" videos highlighting the Cayman Islands, Vermont, Ireland and New York have been viewed by hundreds of thousands of travelers in over 150 countries, and the featured destinations experienced a significant increase in bookings over the life of each campaign.
