Orbitz.com and ebookers.com to become MSN’s Travel Provider for MSN.uk and MSN.com

Orbitz Worldwide win competitive bid to power travel portals and integrate booking tools, service and content on MSN.uk

UK – 2nd July, 2008 - MSN.uk, a unit of Microsoft Corp. (Nasdaq: MSFT), announced today that ebookers.com, a leading pan-European online flights booking and hotel reservation agency,  and its affiliated brand, Orbitz.com in the US, have signed a multi-year deal to serve as the online travel agency  for MSN’s travel portals in the United Kingdom (http://travel.uk.msn.com) and United States (http://travel.msn.com) respectively.

 

 

ebookers.com and Orbitz.com will power all of MSN Travel’s offerings including air, hotel, holidays, cruise and car rental bookings. 

 

Following the 1st July launch, MSN Travel customers in the UK will benefit from

ebookers.com’s Price Guarantee, which refunds the difference if the customer finds a better price. MSN customers in the United Kingdom will also benefit from a fantastic range of worldwide hotels with up to 60% off.

 

In the US MSN Travel customers will benefit from ’Orbitz.com’s unique new “Price AssuranceSM” service, which refunds the difference in airfare for travellers in the event another Orbitz customer books the same flight itinerary for a lower price.  MSN customers in the United States will also benefit from OrbitzTLC, an innovative service that proactively alerts customers with information about their trip via email, phone or text message.

 

Microsoft also plans to integrate content from its newly-acquired Farecast.com portal within the site as well.
